Our Cancer Team

The team at the Henry Ford Cancer Institute includes disease specific specialists from every medical specialty, including Medical Oncologists, Cancer Surgeons, and Radiation Oncologists. We are one strong, integrated team, ensuring you have access to the latest advances in cancer treatment, research, clinical trials and support throughout your journey.

Cancer Surgeons

We offer a rare team approach to cancer surgery, where specially trained and experienced surgeons in your specific type of cancer work together with dozens of other specialists. The cancer surgeons who treat complex and rare cancers are all fellowship trained and have dedicated their practices to certain types of cancers.

They team up with community-based surgeons to offer comprehensive care.

Medical Oncology

Our medical oncologists are at the forefront in the research and development of new therapies, often one of the first and only cancer programs in Michigan to offer the most advanced medical treatments for certain types of cancer. We are actively involved in national research studies through the Southwest Oncology Group, one of the largest cooperative groups funded by the National Cancer Institute for cancer clinical trials in the United States.

Radiation Oncology

Our radiation therapy team members have developed or improved many types of radiation therapy. Our team works together to design and deliver radiation therapies for the brain, spine, and body. Our facilities are accredited by the American College of Radiology, which evaluates safety, quality control, and patient care standards for practices that offer radiation oncology care.
